Negotiations Update April 18th 2014 We met today to discuss the final issues and passed proposals. We appreciated the company making some movement. we countered with a serious and equitable proposal across the table and we look forward to their positive response on Monday April 21st our next session. In Solidarity your union negotiating team AIM Negotiations Update April 15th Today a couple passes were made on the final few issues. It's looking more like we need to prepare ourselves for a battle to get what you deserve. The Company does not seem to want to satisfactorily address the issues you told us were important to you. They appear to be dug in, and we may have to take action to let them know you are serious. District 751 and its 32,000 members locally along with the full support of the IAM Nationally is prepared to support you in this fight should we need to go there. We are hopeful the Company will realize the value you bring and will address your issues. The ball is in the Company's court, and we stand ready to support you 100%. Friday is an important negotiations session, and you need to show the Company you are standing strong together. The next negotiations session is scheduled for this Friday April 18th. It's time to unite and show the Company you mean business. In Solidarity, Negotiations Update March 10, 2014 Today the Company passed a full up counter proposal to the unions full up counter proposal of last week. Included were many areas of tentative agreement. However, there are many items left outstanding including a couple of your top issues. The company is seeming to take another dug in approach and not moving in a direction where we can come to an agreement that respects the hard work you do for them. We need you to show the Company they need to take you serious if we are going to get to an amicable end. We need you to vocalize to management that they need to address your issues. Our next sessions are scheduled for March 19th and 20th consecutively. In unity Negotiations update February 24, 2014 Negotiations Update February 5, 2014 Thank you for showing your solidarity at the rally that was awesome! Members from all over the area and other unions came out to support you in your efforts for a fair deal. Negotiations Update January 29, 2014 The union negotiating committee was a little confused at the company’s response to our wage proposal during the morning session. However the Company came back in the afternoon session with a little movement and we appreciated that. The union passed a few non-wage proposals and tentatively agreed to them during the afternoon session. There are still many outstanding issues needing addressed and we need your help to ensure the Company takes you serious and respects your work. It takes a lot of skill, working in a hazardous environment building airplane parts and your work should be respected as such. You build quality aerospace products and have families to support. You should be able to go to work with dignity and respect and earn a decent living for the work you do. GO HAWKS! Our next session is scheduled for February 5th
Negotiations Update January 22nd
Today was a tough negotiations. The Company made very small movement on the wage issue. This is a major issue for our members at AIM. It is critical to send a message to the Company that you are worth more respect than the lower wages being proposed.
Your negotiating team are making good arguments on your behalf but its time for you to start sending this message as well. Wear your buttons, tee shirts and show your solidarity every day to let the company know you're serious.
Grant "frustrated. Very frustrating when the company makes very little changes to the proposal"
Greg "felt as though we took two steps backwards"
Christie "still not seeing very much respect from Jeff Moore these days"
Tim "now is the time we need to stand strong and continue to show support"
The next session is scheduled for January 29th

Negotiations Update January 14th 2014 Happy New Year Today your negotiating committee spent the day passing wage proposals back and forth and we are getting closer. The Company came in ready to negotiate and we appreciate it. Grant - "it was a good day we made some progress on wages and we saw some movement on the company side" Christie - "we may be seeing that light at the end of the tunnel" Greg- "I thought it was the best meeting than in the past three meetings, it was positive" Tim - "Making improvements we need to stand together in solidarity and keep showing the Company that were all together in this and were not backing down" Because of your support and wearing your buttons in solidarity, it is making an impact. The next negotiations is scheduled for January 22nd In Solidarity Update December 18th 2013 Members at AIM took another strike sanction vote which passed by a historic 100%! This was the second strike sanction vote held in order to include more members in the process. A Strike Sanction vote is required by our Constitution prior to taking any action against an employer. A reaffirmation vote of this strike sanction will be held prior to any work stoppage. This showing of solidarity is exactly the kind of support your union negotiating team needs at the table. Solidarity in the shop, wearing your tee shirts on Tuesdays and your buttons everyday shows the Company they need to get down to business at the bargaining table and address your issues. Members who attended the meeting also got an in depth update on where we are at in negotiations. Although we’ve made some progress, we believe the Company is dragging their feet because they believe you are weak. Your negotiating team recognizes the skills and abilities each member brings to work every day. It’s time to show AIM you deserve a fair wage and respect for the profits you create. Let’s continue to stand in solidarity with each other. It’s time to show your strength. Our next negotiation session will be January 14, 2014. We wish you safe and happy holidays. We intend to hold a second Strike Sanction vote as well to give everyone the opportunity for participation in this process. We’ll see you there. In Solidarity Meeting Notice AIM Negotiations Update November 13th 2013 Today, Nov. 13, we held a strike sanction vote for the members at AIM Aerospace. We had a strong voter turnout that resulted in a 90 percent vote for strike sanction. This sends a strong message to company negotiators that they need to move on some of your key issues like wages, sick leave, vacation, and job postings. This overwhelming show of unity bolsters the Union's position for the upcoming bargaining session and demonstrates to AIM you are serious about getting a first contract that addresses your issues. Thanks to every member for taking the time to vote and doing your part to obtain a good contract. AIM Negotiations Update November 5th 2013 AIM Negotiations Update November 5th 2013 Some progress was made today as we TA'd a couple articles. Discussions again focused around the Company's Medical plan and proposals were exchanged. The Company informed us their costs for the Medical Plan are projected to increase by almost 26% for 2014. Your negotiating committee are continuing to mitigate the impact of those costs on the members. The next session will be Friday November 8th AIM Negotiations Update October 30, 2013 Negotiations went as expected in the session today. Although there was a tentative agreement made on one item, most of the day was spent discussing proposals around the medical plan. The Company informed the union that medical costs were going up 26 percent for 2014. So the union and the company began exchanging proposals in an effort to help mitigate the increases in these costs. Negotiations were fairly productive today around this topic, but there is still much more work to do. We also notified the Company that we are pursuing Unfair Labor Practice charges. Unfair labor practices are charges a union files to address violations of labor law and collective bargaining. The Government will then investigate those complaints and if they find merit, will force the Company to obey the law. Under the timelines associated with these charges, a decision had to be made to file them timely. Grant -- "today was a good day and we made some progress when it comes to safety. Safety is very important in the work environment" Christie -- "we got them to come up with what's going on with our medical and that's a good sign" Greg -- "day started out good and the Company was on time" Andrew -- "we made progress today, we got somewhere today and it feels like were starting to accomplish something" Next session will be November 4th In Solidarity Your union negotiating team AIM Negotiations Update October 22, 2013 In the morning session, the union passed modified proposals in an effort to reach some tentative agreements. While the Union showed movement, the company passed proposals similar to what they had presented in earlier meetings. Negotiations should be about coming to a compromise, which means both sides show movement toward an agreement. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear the company is moving on any of your issues. They are not showing measurable movement from they're initial proposal. We need everyone to come together and express your collective strength by: Your shop floor committee noted: Andrew -- "pretty dammed disappointed" Christie -- "they're always late. It's a waste of time" Greg -- "I think the company showed up unprepared...AGAIN" Grant -- "When they came back with the same proposal I wanted to go off" It's time to stand up and be counted. The next session is October 30th In Solidarity Your union negotiating team Negotiations Update October 14, 2013 Unfortunately today was not very productive because the Company's head negotiator was unable to join us. He is being held up with the UFCW Grocery workers' contract negotiations, where he is also the chief negotiator. IAM District 751 sent a letter in support of the grocery workers to every CEO of the stores involved. The IAM represents 33,000 members and 15,000 retirees in the region representing a 37 million dollar a week payroll. We expressed to those CEO's our support of the workers and asked our members and the public to not shop at those affected stores in the event of a work stoppage. This is the second meeting the Company has wanted to cancel, but did agree to meet for half a day unfortunately they had no ability to make a decision. The union representatives made an effort to reaching tentative agreements from earlier discussions but the company side representatives were unable to agree due to the absence of the Company side head negotiator. If the Company wants to keep these negotiations going, it appears they need a little better time management from their employer representative and take these negotiations seriously. We believe an injury to one is an injury to all and we are proud to stand with our brothers and sisters of the UFCW, but the world doesn't stop moving just because an employer representative is unavailable because he is attempting to take away more from the workers of another represented group. There were no tentative agreements today on anything. It's time for you to start taking action: start telling your management to start presenting wage proposals so we can get down to meaningful negotiations. And start telling management they need to be more prepared at the table. Christie -- "this was a joke today, they were completely unprepared" Grant -- "I am very, very disappointed of the companies proposals and efforts this far" Andrew -- "wow..." Greg -- "unproductive, Company wasn't prepared for anything today" Unfortunately, they cancelled the next scheduled negotiations this Wednesday. So Brett Coty, your union representative, will be visiting the shop this Wednesday during lunch on 1st and 2nd. He will be checking to see if the union bulletin boards are installed and be available to answer questions. It is important you get your membership application filled out and returned to us. Remember, without filling out that application, you will not be able to vote on a proposal or get the other privileges of Union membership. The next negotiations session is scheduled for October 22nd. Negotiations update October 4th 2013
Negotiations continued today where both parties passed proposals for consideration. The Company asked for the union negotiators to prioritize the issues in an attempt to narrow the scope. We responded accordingly and went through the entire list of items you told us through your surveys that needed to be addressed.
The list was presented on your behalf and even though some issues were more important than others, at this early time in the process, the negotiators are holding close to the vest which issues are more important than others until such time as the Company begins addressing some of the "meat and potato issues". We are really concerned they haven't put a proposal on wages on the table yet as this is one of your highest priorities. If we are going to get to an agreement in a timely manner, it is important for us to make moves to the middle. Andrew - "This is the time for all of us to stand together. The more members who fill out their membership cards, the stronger we will be when it comes to the future and the louder our collective voice will be when it comes to what we need." The next bargaining session is scheduled for October 14th. Stay strong and united In solidarity, Your union negotiating team Negotiations update October 1, 2013
We met with the Company all day where they presented what they determined to be a full up proposal however it was lacking any real proposal on wages. It appears the Company is satisfied with what they have today which we expressed was unacceptable and one of the reasons the workers unionized in the first place.
We brought up the intimidation of workers having to use the restroom as a concern. The inconsistencies of management selectively choosing who they feel they can intimidate and who they leave alone. Federal law allows for relieving yourself as needed with no limitations. We are hopeful that was made this clear to the Company today.
We were able to tentatively agree on a few articles.
We are hopeful the company will take these negotiations serious and address all the items you told us were important to you in a timely manner so we can all get back to work doing what we do best.
The next negotiations session will be Friday October 4th.
T-Shirt Tuesdays
Members will be receiving their Solidarity T-shirts in the mail shortly. Members are being asked to wear their new T-Shirts every Tuesday in a showing of solidarity for the negotiations. Negotiation Update Sept. 19, 2013Negotiations with AIM Aerospace kicked off today and your main table IAM negotiating committee presented the Company side negotiators with a detailed full contract proposal addressing the issues you told us were important to you. Your shop representatives did a great job representing you at the table. They gave valuable input on your behalf. Grant said, “I feel good about the proposal we presented. We are not backing down from our proposal. We are honored our coworkers picked us to represent them and to stand for those people who can’t stand for themselves. We’re playing hard ball, and they need to bring their A game. If you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything” Greg said “I thought it went exactly how I expected it to. We gave them a proposal and when they come back on October 1st, we’ll go from there.” Christie said, “I think it went really well -- better than I expected, but we need all of us on the same page” Andy said, “Our union was very prepared with a full proposal as a result of the interaction between the full committee, surveys and members”. The Company requested time to go over the full proposal and committed to addressing each item at the next negotiation session scheduled for October 1st. In addition, we agreed to a bargaining meeting schedule throughout October to keep the negotiations moving forward. Both parties agreed to work hard to get these negotiations done as soon as possible , but recognizing there are some contentious issues. We will ask for your help in the future if the company chooses not to address them. The best thing you can do right now to help you and your coworkers achieve the best possible deal would be to fill out a membership application. Your collective strength and showing of solidarity in the shop will reflect in what the company brings to the table. It’s time to come together as a union and show the company you are serious about improving the quality of life for you and your family through collective action. Check back to this web site regularly for updates on the progress of your negotiations. In Solidarity Negotiation Update Sept. 10, 2013 Thanks to each member who participated in the union meetings and the process to nominate and select your negotiating team. We also want to thank the members who accepted the nomination to be a part of your IAM Negotiating Committee for your upcoming contract negotiations. The four main table representatives are: Grant Billups, Gregory Clark, Christie O'Farrell and Andrew Riggs. The remainder of the negotiating committee members will serve on subcommittees, and we will utilize their expertise in various capacities. In addition, they may be rotated onto the main table, as subject matter experts as needed. We may use additional members throughout the process to maximize our resources. As we've stated before, your participation in this process will make us successful in securing a contract with AIM Aerospace that addresses your needs. We continue to encourage bargaining unit employees to fill out a membership application, so everyone can participate fully in the survey and bargaining process. Formal negotiations will begin on September 19. At that time, the Union will be presenting a comprehensive proposal addressing issues you identified as important through surveys, meetings and discussions with your internal shop floor committee. From now until the opener on Sept. 19, your internal shop floor negotiating committee members will be working closely with union IAM negotiators to pour through the survey results, identify your issues, review detailed information from management we have requested -- all with the goal of crafting a detailed proposal to address the issues you have identified as important. Congratulations to each employee who had the courage to stand up for a brighter future and say NO to the fear and intimidation tactics of AIM management. On Friday, July 26, workers at AIM Aerospace voted by a substantial majority for union representation This means you have decided to join the IAM family and will be now represented by IAM District 751 once the results are certified by the NLRB in the next 7 to 10 days pending any objections. This is a great victory for you and your co-workers. Once the election is formally certified the Union will begin first steps in working toward an initial contract.
