Update October 6th 2010 With URS taking over approximately November 1st while many of you are TDY, It is even more important to be represented. The law does not allow the New Contractor to change wages, hours and working conditions when represented. Without being represented, the new contractor may strip away vacation accrual, any sick leave and they may or may not even hire you. They could potentially reclassify you to a different classification at a lower rate of pay. We are not saying URS will do these things, we are just pointing out that the possibility is there when you are not represented. If you haven't made up your mind at this time, it is more important than ever to do so promptly and if you are supportive, it is imperative to fill out the "A card" and send it to us. Again, this is confidential. Fill out the card and send it to: Questions? email Jesse jessec@iam751.org
